Surface Mount Machine Operative / Electronics Assembler

 

(SMT)

 

We are recruiting for an experienced surface mount operative or a machine operator of similar skill. This role requires excellent attention to detail and dexterity as the components you’ll be dealing with go down to 0201 (0.6 x 0.3mm) size. An understanding of IPC and component recognition would be advantageous.

 

The role incorporates all aspects of surface mount component / PCB assembly, utilising computer-controlled machinery.

 

This includes:

• Kitting your own components from the storeroom using a kitting list.
• Loading specific programs on SMT machines. Setting up and operating SMT machines, including Board Handling equipment, Screen Printer, Pick & Place and Reflow oven.
• Following assembly build instructions and ensuring all forms are filled in correctly for each job.
• Hand placing surface mount components when needed.
• Using inspection equipment.
• Maintaining machines (optional).
• Helping in other areas of the production area when needed. PCB through hole assembly, wave insertion assembly, cable assembly, final product assembly & testing.

 

Normal working hours are 8.00 – 17.00 Monday to Thursday and 8.00 – 12.00 on Fridays, with occasional overtime.
